Work in the laboratory is focused on the role of RAGE (Receptor for Advanced Glycation End products, a cell surface receptor molecule) and the macro and microvascular complications of diabetes.
Studies are ongoing in animal models and using novel inhibitors to test the role of the axis in the initiation and progression of diabetes associated complications.
