Note

A variety of transportation choices are included. However, taxis are generally the most convenient and safest. Please consider whether luggage, etc., will make travel on public transportation too difficult. Also, please be aware that only yellow cabs may legally solicit customers with offers of transportation; use official taxi stands whenever possible, especially at airports.

Directions to the Wound Healing Center

The Wound Healing Center of New-York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center is located in the Allen Pavilion in northern Manhattan at 220th Street and Broadway. The Allen Pavilion is convenient to public transportation and major highways. Cars may pick up or drop off passengers at the 220th Street entrance, and then may proceed to the parking lot. Courtesy phones are available in the lobby for patients to call for limousines, taxis, or car services.

By Automobile

  • From upstate New York and New Jersey
    After crossing the George Washington Bridge, follow signs to the Henry Hudson Parkway North (also called the West Side Highway). Exit at Dyckman Street, then turn left on Broadway. The Allen Pavilion will be on your left.
  • From the Major Deegan Expressway
    From either north or south on the Major Deegan take exit 10, the 230th Street exit. If approaching from the south, go left at the light onto Broadway. If approaching from the north, take a right at the light onto Broadway.
  • From the Cross-Bronx Expressway
    Travel toward the George Washington Bridge and take the last exit before the bridge. Then follow signs for the Henry Hudson Parkway North. Exit at Dykman, then turn left on Broadway. the Allen Pavilion will be on your left.

By Public Transportation

  • By Subway
    The # 1 and # 9 trains provide service to the 215th Street and 225th Street stations at Broadway. The A train provides express service form midtown Manhattan to 207th Street.
  • By Bus
    City buses that serve the Allen Pavilion include: Bx-7, Bx-20, and Liberty Lines Express. For additional bus and subway information, call the Transit Authority at (718) 330-1234.
  • By Metro North Rail
    The Marble Hill station is located directly across the river from the hospital. Walk the 220th Street bridge to access the Allen Pavilion's main entrance.

The most direct way to CUMC from most locations is to follow directions leading to the George Washington Bridge, then exit onto the Henry Hudson Parkway, and then onto Riverside Drive (south). From there, continue south and turn left onto 165th Street (the first left south of the bridge). Proceed one block and turn right onto Ft. Washington Avenue, then turn right into the Medical Center parking garage.

  • From upstate New York and New Jersey
    After crossing the George Washington Bridge, follow signs to the Henry Hudson Parkway (also called the West Side Highway), and then to Riverside Drive.
  • From Riverdale and Westchester via the Saw Mill River Parkway
    Exit the Henry Hudson Parkway at the Riverside Drive exit immediately past the George Washington Bridge.
  • From Westchester, Connecticut, and the East Side of Manhattan via the Major Deegan, Cross-Bronx Expressway, or Harlem River Drive
    Approaching the George Washington Bridge, take the Henry Hudson Parkway exit; on the approach to the Hendry Hudson Parkway, stay to the left and follow signs to Riverside Drive.
  • From the West Side of Manhattan
    Take the Henry Hudson Parkway to Exit 15-Riverside Drive South.

By Public Transportation

Take the A, C, #1, or #9 subway to 168th Street, or take the M2, M3, M4, M5, or M100 bus to CUMC. For additional bus and subway information, call the Metropolitan Transit Authority at 718.330.1234. Fares at this time are $2.00 for both the subway and buses. Buses require either Metrocards (which can be purchased at all subway stations) or exact change; bills are not accepted.
