| Purpose |
Prograf® is an immunosuppressive medicine that helps prevent organ rejection. |
| Dosage |
The dose we prescribe for you is based on your lab values.
The capsules come in .5mg, 1mg, and 5mg .and in a solution of 5mg/ml. |
| When |
In the morning, take with breakfast after your lab work is completed.
Repeat the dose in the pm, 12 hours after your am dose. |
| Precautions |
Prograf® blood levels can be altered by some medicines. Before you take any new drugs please contact the transplant team.
New mothers taking Prograf are advised NOT to breast feed. |
| Common Side Effects |
Headache, tremors, seizures, change in mental staus, insomnia/nightmares, high blood sugar, high-blood pressure, anemia, loss of appetite, diarrhea, decreased kidney function, leg cramping, elevated potassium levels, lowered magnesium levels, hair loss. |
