Taught by 19 Columbia breast-care specialists, The Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons Guide to Breast Care provides a clear, comprehensive, and multidisciplinary look at the latest developments in breast-cancer detection, treatment, and prevention. The e-seminar, which is available in both English and Spanish, is intended for women with breast cancer, for their families, and for women at high risk for developing breast cancer. It features video and audio presentations from Columbia faculty, medical illustrations, procedural animations, diagnostic images, and text-based lecture materials. Topics include the anatomy of the breast, fibrocystic changes in the breast, breast-cancer screening and diagnostic tools, stages of breast cancer, managing the care of high-risk patients, surgical treatments, options for reconstructive surgery, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, chemotherapy, new treatments such as ductal lavage and vaccine therapy, and the physical and psychological effects of breast cancer.
