Opportunities for Students Suturing Workshop
Get a head start on learning a fundamental surgical skill. Every year, the Department teaches a series of workshops for first and second year students on suturing.
Students have the opportunity to practice tying square knots (one-handed, two-handed and instrument techniques), basic suturing (simple interrupted, simple continuous and subcutaneous) and stapling.
Each workshop features the tutelage of an attending surgeon and small class size, allowing ample personal instruction for every participant.
By the end of each two-hour workshop, students leave with basic skills necessary to practice suturing correctly and achieve mastery.
