The Joan and Michael Schneeweiss Center for Adult Congenital Heart Disease cares for patients who have had cardiac surgery earlier in life and those with newly diagnosed congenital heart disease. These patients receive the interventions they often need to address recurrent or residual complications from heart surgery.

The Aortic Surgery Program offers a multidisciplinary team with expertise in the medical and surgical management of all types of acute and chronic aortic problems, including acute Type A and Type B dissection; ascending aortic and arch aneurysms; and aortic root reconstruction.

The newly integrated Columbia Cornell Pediatric Cardiovascular Center at the Children's Hospital of New York, offers groundbreaking and state-of-the-art pediatric diagnostic and interventional cardiology and pediatric cardiac surgery, as well as innovative medical education and basic clinical research in these areas. It continues to realize great success in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired heart disease in neonates, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.

The Heart Transplantation Program has a distinguished history of advancing "standards of care" and the survival rates of our patients by using innovative surgical techniques, applying our basic scientific research in immunosuppression to the clinical setting, and utilizing innovative cardiac assist devices that prolong life while waiting for organ availability.

The Mechanical Circulatory Support Program treats patients with end-stage heart failure through mechanical circulatory support. For example, left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) can take over much of the function of damaged hearts, supporting patients as either a bridge to transplant or as a destination therapy.

The Minimally Invasive & Robotic Cardiac Surgery Program focuses on the use of smaller surgical incisions to lessen postoperative pain, shorten recovery times, and reduce scarring for patients.

The Preventive Cardiology Program seeks to optimize the preventive care of patients and the public with or at risk for cardiovascular disease, and to stimulate and facilitate multidisciplinary preventive research and education.

The Surgical Atrial Fibrillation Program offers a variety of surgical solutions to atrial fibrillation, including the MAZE procedure, surgical atrial fibrillation ablation (SAFA), totally endoscopic beating heart atrial fibrillation ablation, and radiofrequency pulmonary vein isolation.
