The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is the first Division in the Department to form a collaborative joint division with Weill Cornell. Dr. Robert T. Grant leads the Columbia University Medical Center Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Program. Together, we are clinical leaders in adult, congenital and pediatric reconstructive surgery. Also, we are leaders in clinical and translational research in the treatment of adult, congenital, and craniofacial malformations as well as tissue engineering. The Columbia-Cornell Center for Aesthetic Surgery is part of the joint division of plastic surgery of two world-renowned medical centers. Our staff members bring a wealth of experience to the practice of plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery. In addition, our affiliation with the Center for Specialty Care, Inc., a fully licensed and regulated facility, means that surgery will be performed in a safe, comfortable, and fully confidential environment, in midtown Manhattan. In choosing the Center for Surgery, Board-certified plastic surgeons and anesthesiologists who are guided by the professional standards set by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Society for Aesthetic Surgery care for patients. Initial consultation and follow-up can be done on-site, and almost all procedures can be completed in the Center's warm and inviting setting. While we are confident that our services are the very best available, we also are conducting research, including pioneering work on the study of patient outcomes, that will benefit our patients in the long term. This focus on research is yet another factor that distinguishes us as a cutting-edge center with an ongoing commitment to improving the experience of aesthetic surgery for our patients. We take great pride in the consistently high quality of care we provide for our patients. Now in its seventh decade, the division offers a full range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures, drawing from the expertise of its plastic surgeons. The clinical staff is comprised of a group of Board-certified plastic surgeons, each proficient in several areas of specialization. These areas range from cosmetic surgery procedures to complex reconstructive procedures. Our division is at the forefront of clinical and laboratory research in plastic surgery, and is a recognized national and international leader in plastic surgery.
